Willesden Gallery Instagram Takeover

willesden_gallery's profile picture

We’re excited to announce that Danuta Solowiej, @danutasolowiej, is our new artist to take over Willesden Gallery Instagram.

Danuta Solowiej is a Polish born artist based in London. Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw with a diploma in sculpture. She works primarily in three dimensions preferring modelling and subtle polychromy while focusing on tactile aspects of sculpture. Her work is devoid of superfluous details and narrative is minimal.

During lockdown her fondness for photography was rekindled when observing the metamorphosis of a randomly purchased fruit from the local restaurant cum grocery in the time of crisis. The mystery fruit
turned out to be chayote. The images of the fruit are shown along with her sculptures, the relationship is uncanny.

Interested in taking part? To be considered please send an email to our Curator at nadia.nervo@brent.gov.uk with the following information.
