Drawing Rooms at The Montage

'Drawing Rooms' is a one off drawing event in which invited artists and their friends will spend four evenings drawing on the walls of the gallery upstairs. There will be no designated spaces. All the walls will become communal property on which to scribble, scratch, render and blur in the spirit of cooperation, improvisation, mutual reinvention and semi orchestrated chaos. Think jazz but with pencils and charcoal instead of instruments and voice. No, you can’t just come and watch (it’s not that kind of thing) but after the first evening the results will be open for public viewing for three days only. Hopefully there will also be plenty of footage and photographs to document the goings on in case you can’t make it, before the walls are painted over to prepare for the annual Christmas show.
